Motorists have been warned that temporary traffic signals are in place after a hole was reported in Maidstone Road, Borough Green, this afternoon.

According to a Kent Highways Services spokeswoman engineers visited the road and it was made safe for overnight traffic.

There will be a full investigation tomorrow.

The spokeswoman warned traffic congestion will be likely at peak times.

She said: "We appreciate the cooperation and patience of drivers using the road, particularly as there is a school and pedestrian crossing close to the affected area."
