RESIDENTS in Queenborough on Sheppey will have to go the long way round to Queenborough Corner this weekend.

Main Road is to be closed between the Lady Hamilton and Queenborough Ambulance Station for 36 hours starting from 5pm on Saturday until 5am Monday.

The closure is needed while the route is linked to a new junction with the A249.

During the weekend traffic will be diverted into the town via Brielle Way and Whiteways Road. There will also be diversions for pedestrians.
