AS KENT enters a second week of Operation Stack traffic misery, motorists have been airing their views on the Kent Online message board.

Carolyn Farres of Maidstone said: "It is wrong that the people in Kent should suffer from the [SeaFrance workers strike] by having the traffic chaos that is caused."

Ashford's Tony Harris "feels like a prisoner in my own home each time Operation Stack phase 2 is implemented."

Lorry driver George Kelly of Gillingham suggests: "When the French decide to have industrial action that stops the ferries they should stop the trucks from coming over in the first place and let them keep them in France."

But David Parry, from Rainham, has dismissed that as "xenophobic nonsense".
