Celebrations and protests have greeted the announcement that Joe Biden is the president-elect after several days of ballot counting in the US.
The former vice-president was called as the winner of both Pennsylvania and Nevada swing states on Saturday, meaning he has an insurmountable lead in the race for the White House, although may still face legal challenges over some of the results.
Donald Trump, who has yet to concede, left the White House to play golf earlier on Saturday.
