TK Maxx and Homesense stores recall dummy and teether clip sets over ‘serious’ choking risk

A teething and dummy set for babies and toddlers is being recalled over fears small parts could break off and cause a child to choke or suffocate.
Warnings have been issued to parents about the Bop Bop Baby Lion Teether and Pacifier Set and the Bop Bop Rainbow Teether and Pacifier Set.
Both products are sold by TK Maxx and Homesense stores.
The stores themselves, the government’s Office for Product and Safety Standards and consumer group Which? have all issued safety alerts over the dummy sets following reports that small parts may fall off the string clip part.
The government’s recall notice says the sets are being recalled because they present ‘a serious risk of choking’.
While a message on the Homesense website reads: “We are recalling the above products due to a safety issue which could cause choking or suffocation.
“The safety of our customers is very important to us and we are taking this action as a precaution.”
The recall message goes on to say that the products affected would have been sold in TK Maxx and Homesense stores between July and August 2023 with product codes on receipts listed as either 866389 or 866392. No other batches or designs of teether are affected.
Any household with one of the affected products is asked to stop using it immediately and return it their nearest store for a full refund. No receipt, say officials, will be required to get your money back.
