Tesco is recalling various chocolate bars because they may mistakenly contain peanuts not mentioned on the label.
The supermarket and Food Standards Agency have both issued urgent warnings about the multipacks of snacks that could pose a serious risk to those with a nut allergy.
The chocolate bars being recalled are the Tesco Nutty Nougat Caramel Chocolate Bars Multipack and the Tesco Dreamy Caramel Chocolate Bars Multipack.
Both packets have six bars in the packet - each weighing 40g. While the nougat bars will have a best before date of February 28, 2025 and the Dreamy bars dates of January 31 and February 28 next year.
Alongside recalling the bars and placing notices in supermarket aisles to alert shoppers who may have the chocolate at home, the retailer says it has also contacted the relevant allergy charities to utilise their help in spreading the word among those most at risk.
Anyone with either of the affected products should return them to any Tesco store for a full refund. There is no need to have a receipt.
