Cadbury has confirmed one of its most popular Christmas chocolates could be missing from some boxes and packets this month.
As homes begin tucking into festive treats, shoppers with a sweet tooth have been taking to social media to question the notable absence of one particular sweet.
The Orange Creme – say some customers – has been missing from their packets and tubs of Roses chocolates.
Querying it’s absence on X – formerly Twitter – one shopper using a number of crying emojis asked: “@CadburyUK disappointed to note I bought a tub of roses and there wasn’t a single caramel or orange crème in there."
While another queried: "@CadburyUK no orange sweets?”
In a reply, the confectioner confirmed the flavour has been hit by ‘supply chain challenges’ that mean the Orange Creme has not made it into all of its Roses chocolate range this year.
Writing on X, a Cadbury spokesperson responded and said: "Hi, this year, a small percentage of Cadbury Roses products will not contain any Orange Cremes due to supply chain challenges.
"But don't worry, you'll still be able to enjoy the same amount of chocolate as usual as we’ve replaced them with our much-loved Strawberry Cremes."
However the news that staff had made the switch from orange to strawberry was not welcomed by all customers with one saying ‘”This isn’t very good I only look forward to the orange ones!"
In September, Cadbury announced that among its Christmas range this year would again be its much-loved traditional gold foil-wrapped chocolate coins.
The Dairy Milk coins have returned to shelves after close to a decade’s absence and will cost £1.99 for the traditional netted bag of sweets.
