KCC opens Kent Test 2024 registration form and sets a July 1 deadline for completed forms

Parents and carers who would like their child to be considered for a Kent grammar school place next year can now register them for the Kent Test.

Registration for children due to start secondary school in September 2025, has now opened.

Families will need to complete and submit their registration form by midnight on Monday, July 1, 2024.

Kent County Council says it won’t be able to accept any late registrations and without a completed form pupils will not be able to sit the test.

Children currently in Year 5 who were born between September 1, 2013 and August 31, 2014 can take the Kent Test this year.

The test itself will take place on Thursday, September 12 for pupils in Kent primary schools, and on the weekend of Saturday, September 14 for other pupils.

The results will be sent by KCC on Thursday, October 17 before families have to apply to their chosen secondary schools.

Pupils who want to be considered for a grammar school in Medway, will need to sit the Medway Test.

Registration for this opened last month and will close on June 14, 2024 says Medway Council.
