A supermarket is recalling packets of biscuits over fears they may contain metal.
Lidl has issued a safety alert for various flavours of Tower Gate cookies.
Customers are being warned the snacks are unsafe to eat – because of the possible presence of metal – and should be returned to the retailer for a full refund.
The packets affected by the recall are: Tower Gate Soft Baked Cookies Triple Chocolate, weighing 210g, with a best before date of December 12 2024; Tower Gate Soft Baked Cookies Lemon, also weighing 210g with a best before date of December 13, 2024 and 150g packets of Tower Gate Chocolate Chip Cookies with a December 14, 2024 best before date.
Notices have been put up in the aisles of Lidl supermarkets to alert customers about the possible danger, should they have the cookies at home.
A warning on the Food Standards Agency website adds: “If you have bought the above products do not eat them. Instead, return them to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.”
