With autumn just around the corner this month's eight new Kent Pets Tournament entries are ready for your vote.
In this first round, four animals will be voted on by readers to go to round two - getting one step closer to becoming September's pet of the month.
For those new to the game, every month we will be choosing eight animals across Kent for readers to explore the lives of and vote on who will be Kent's pet of the month.
Every week readers will vote on pairs of animals to go to the next round until only one remains.
If you're interested in entering next month's round for October, email details about your pet (such as pictures, name, breed, age and fun stories) to mcarr@thekmgroup.co.uk
Head-to-Head #1
Jimmy the cocker King Charles cross
Jimmy is a 12-year-old cocker King Charles cross who loves to chase squirrels in the garden.
His family brought him when he was just eight weeks-old, although he still acts like a pup he does forget he can’t run as fast as he used too!
Jimmy's family say he listens like a human when your talking to him and if you give him a piece of ham, he will literally do anything.
His favourite toy is his honky pig, and every time his owners buy him a new one he bites the honker and stuffing out of them without fail.
Jimmy is his family's best friend.
Milly the short haired moggy
Milly the black short haired moggy recently celebrated her 22nd birthday.
Her owners brought her from a pet shop in Oxted, in October 1999.
She was the only little kitten in the cage and her owner was told that all her brothers and sisters had been sold but she was the runt of the litter and the only kitten left behind.
Her owner, Gill, said she was clinging to the wire on the front of the cage and meowing, they couldn't resist her!
They called her Milly because of the approaching new millennium.
Milly is very friendly, loving and loves attention. She still likes a stroll around the garden and will find the sunniest spot for a snooze.
She has had quite an adventurous life. She had to be rescued by the fire brigade from the top of an oak tree when she was still a little kitten. It was early December and snowing!
Whenever Milly's owners went for a walk in their local woods Milly would come with them.
Once she decide to climb a tree and got stuck again, leading Gill and her husband, Graham, to return to the woods with a torch and ladder to get her down.
When Graham used to collect subscriptions for their local neighbourhood watch she would follow him door-to-door and do the rounds with him, waiting while he had a chat and then would trot along with him to the next house.
Now when he is gardening she will go and sit with him and watch him working and will always follow him around as he works his way around the garden.
Not long ago she underwent an operation to remove a large benign growth on her neck.
It was a big operation for an old cat but within a couple of days she was back on her feet and has now made a full recovery.
Over the years whilst Gill and Graham have had Milly they have had several other cats, mostly rescues, but now they just have Milly and a fluffy ginger cat called Clive.
Milly's favourite treats are prawns but she also loves a bit of raw steak!
She looks a bit like a threadbare old teddy bear now but she’s still as loving and as loved as ever.
Head-to-Head #2
Jenny the lurcher
Jenny is an 8-year-old rescue lurcher who loves to chew pillows!
Although she gets upset when her owner has to leave her alone she does enjoy sleeping on the sofa.
Jenny loves chasing rabbits but forgets that she's too slow to catch them!
Her sister is a pesky cat but Jenny tolerates her to keep the peace.
Jenny loves sausages and her favourite walk is the Isle of Grain coastal path.
Her owner loves her very much and says her goofy face is almost identical to Sid from Ice Age.
Cleo the indoor cat
Cleo the indoor cat is turning five years old this month.
The birthday girl loves nothing more than to snuggle up on a cushion and is also known to roll on her back to demand a belly rub.
Like her owners, she loves her beauty sleep and eating food.
This indoor cat also enjoys a good pamper when her mum and dad groom her with her favourite brush.
Head-to-Head #3
Bruce the French bulldog cross Boston terrier
Bruce is a one-year-old French bulldog cross Boston terrier, however he is often mistaken for a gremlin!
Also known as the king of the head tilts, Bruce has a number of tricks under his belt including spin, high-five and the most impressive of all, kiss.
The playful pup is loved by all of his 4,000 instagram fans where you can see more of his cute pictures here: @bruce_frenchton
Joe the border collie
Joe is an 11-year-old border collie who loves football and chilling in the garden, no matter what the weather.
Fluffy and full of love, Joe brings a smile to everyone he meets, enjoying pets from strangers and family.
Due to his old age Joe was recently diagnosed with diabetes, sadly one of his symptoms included him becoming blind.
However, this hasn't stopped the pooch from playing his favourite games!
Joe is very smart and knows all of his toys by name, despite his poor eye sight he is still a master at fetch and is able to retrieve his teddies with no problem.
The collie is obsessed with helicopters and despite not being able to see them he looks to the sky and barks when one flies over head.
His owner jokes that he probably wouldn't know what to do with himself if he caught one!
Joe loves the outside and although he has his creature comforts indoors he'd rather sit in the garden all day hiding under his owners plants in a massive hole he's dug.
The old dog will be turning 12 in December and is looking forward to many Christmas treats.
Head-to-Head #4
Alto the cocker spaniel
Alto is a black and tan cocker spaniel who is 12-weeks-old.
The pup is still trying to soften the heart of Lucca, his six-year-old cocker spaniel brother by sitting in his bed or biting his ears!
Alto loves nothing more than snoozes with his favourite cuddly toys or trying to help his owner with the washing.
His owner says it makes up for the sleepless nights and never ending toilet training!
Salami the shih tzu lurcher cross
Salami is a five-year-old shih tzu lurcher cross that loves all things food.
Her owner calls her a chunky girl and Salami can always be spotted stealing the cat's food.
Salami is an amazing singer and often howls and gives a little awoo when she wants attention.
