Homes that sat abandoned and incomplete for years have finally hit the market with some costing nearly half-a-million pounds.
The 85 properties in St Mary’s Bay near New Romney are part of the The Sands development, and sit on a four-acre plot between the A259 and the seafront.
Compass Builders Ltd began construction in early 2018 and the first residents were set to move in in summer 2019.
However supply issues waylaid construction and for four years the half-built homes sat open to the elements.
In October, KentOnline revealed contractors were still nowhere to be seen and the vandalised buildings had become a spot for pigeons and rabbits.
However, earlier this year GC Construction Ltd took over the site and work resumed in April.
Now, estate agent Rogans has listed some of the plots for sale with a one-bed flat starting from £175,000.
A four-bedroom end-of-terrace family home with a sea view and a garage is also on the market for £495,000.
The development consists of one and two-bed apartments and family homes just meters from the sandy beach.
The site was previously home to a holiday camp known as The Sands Motel.
But the budget resort was demolished after being damaged in the Great Storm of 1987 and remained unused.
When The Sands was approved in 2016, 66 people objected to the scheme, with many fearing the development would be “out of place.”
