TV stars Timothy West and Prunella Scales enjoyed a visit to a Kent tourist hotspot last week.
The West End star and Fawlty Towers actress paid a trip to the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway (RH&DR) in which they travelled from Hythe to Dungeness.
Described as “legends of stage and screen” by staff at the railway, the pair were shown around the site and all had an “enjoyable day”.
West, who also featured in Eastenders and Coronation Street, was pictured next to the Great West’ern Limited train.
In a Facebook post, bosses at the railway said it was “a pleasure” showing West, 88, and Scales, 91, around the site.
“Yesterday, we had the pleasure of showing two legends of stage and screen around the railway: Timothy West and Prunella Scales,” the spokesperson said.
“A wonderful steam journey behind locomotive no.1 Green Goddess, a quick tipple in 'Gladys the Bar Car', and a delicious lunch at the End of the Line Restaurant at Dungeness was the order of the day.
“An enjoyable day was had by all.”
Last year, the war-time train line marked its 95th anniversary.
The RH&DR was commandeered by the War Department during the Second World War and featured the only miniature armoured train in the world.
