Yellow weather warning for Romney Marsh from Met Office

Gusts of 52mph winds are expected to hit the coast today.

A yellow weather warning for wind and heavy rain has been issued by the Met Office for Romney Marsh

The warning, until at least midday today, in particular is for the southern part of the Marsh, the Lydd and Dungeness areas.

Weather experts say that delays on roads and for bus services are expected and that there is a risk to high-sided vehicles on the exposed, flat Romney Marsh.

Gusts from south-westerly winds this morning are expected to range between 49 and 52mph.
