Man flown to William Harvey Hospital, Ashford, after collision between car and motorcycle at Hythe Road, Dymchurch.

A motorcyclist has been flown to hospital after a crash with a car today.

The victim was first treated at the scene for injuries including those to the chest.

He was taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford by the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance.

The accident happened at Hythe Road, Dymchurch, at around noon.

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service said: “The air ambulance joined us.

"The male motorcyclist was treated at the scene for injuries including arm and chest injuries and was airlifted.”

Fire fighters were also called to the accident.

Locals said that it had happened near the New Beach Holiday Park.

One woman, who did not want to be named: “I saw attempts to work on a casualty there.

"There seemed to be nothing left of the motorbike. It was a horrible scene.

“I saw four ambulances and two police cars.

“In terms of traffic it caused chaos with drivers trying to get out of Dymchurch and head towards Hythe.”

Kent Highways said that the road was closed in both directions as emergency services dealt with the aftermath.
