Lydd High Street closed following crash

Firefighters had to free a woman who was left trapped after a four vehicle crash in Lydd High Street on Romney Marsh.

Crews worked closely with paramedics to get her out following the crash at 1.11pm.

Part of the road was closed off while the scene was made safe, with buses being diverted.

A police spokesman confirmed four vehicles were involved.

"Officers were called to the scene at 1.11pm," he said.

"Crews from Secamb and Kent Fire and Rescue Service are also in attendance."

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters were called to reports of a road crash in Lydd High Street.

"Upon arrival they found a woman trapped in her vehicle and set about releasing her, working closely with paramedics. Kent Police was also in attendance."
