Man, 42, arrested on suspicion of drink-driving following crash in St Mary's Bay, Romney Marsh

A suspected drink driver was arrested after a vehicle overturned in a crash last night.

Police, three fire engines and paramedics all attended the smash, which happened in St Mary's Bay on Romney Marsh.

Firefighters used lifting and hydraulic tools to lift the vehicle, which had overturned close to the junction with Taylors Lane along the A259 at 10pm.

A 42-year-old man from Romney Marsh was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink-driving.

He remains in police custody today.

It was the second incident to take place on the A259 yesterday.

The first happened in Folkestone when a van overturned, trapping a man inside.
