Hunt for driver after hit-and-run in Burmarsh

Police are looking for the driver of a car that left the scene of a crash in an apparent hit-and-run.

Officer are trying to find a Land Rover or Range Rover thought to have been involved in the collision with a Ford Fiesta, which was written off in the smash.

The incident, which left the Fiesta driver with injuries, happened in Burmarsh Road, Burmarsh, at 4.15am yesterday.

Investigating officer PC Justine Drew said: "We believe the vehicle that left the scene was a gold or bronze-coloured Land Rover or Range Rover.

"This vehicle would have had significant front end damage.

"We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or has since seen a vehicle matching this description either at a garage or parked up somewhere."

The driver of the other car, a Ford Fiesta, received minor injuries which required medical treatment.

PC Drew said: "The Fiesta was written-off and it was fortunate that the driver’s injuries weren’t more serious."
