A 72-year-old man stands accused of sexually touching a boy in a car after asking the youngster for directions.

Nigel Hawkins, from Lydd, is due to appear in court following an incident on Saturday.

Nigel Hawkins, 72, appeared in Folkestone Magistrates’ Court yesterday

Police were called to a report that a boy had been approached in Cheriton, Folkestone, and “got into a vehicle to assist with directions to a location before the incident took place”.

Officers attended and, following enquiries, made an arrest just over an hour later.
