Car and lorry collide in Hythe Road in Dymchurch

There are heavy delays on Romney Marsh following a two vehicle smash.

A man has been hurt after the lorry and car collided at around 12.30pm on Hythe Road.

Police, Kent Fire and Rescue Service and ambulance were all called to the scene.

The road is currently closed while recovery work continues.

Drivers are being diverted along Burmarsh Road.

A spokesman for fire services said: "KFRS was called to a crash involving a car and a lorry on Hythe Road, Dymchurch near New Romney at 12.34pm.

"Two fire engines attended and crews made the scene safe.

"Two casualties were looked after by SECAmb paramedics."

Police added: "Kent Police received a report of a collision involving a car and lorry at 12.30pm.

"Officers are attending the scene in Hythe road, Dymchurch with the South East Coast Ambulance service and KFRS. A man has reported injuries."
