The wreckage of a fishing boat that disappeared off the Kent coast a week ago has been found.

The Belgian vessel with four crew members on board was en route to Ostend when it went missing in the Channel off the coast of Dungeness last Wednesday.

Two bodies have since been found and debris had been spotted in the water, but the search continued for the rest of the wreckage.

It was found yesterday by teams on board a survey vessel.

Today, the Royal Netherlands Navy warship the HNLMS Luymes is being sent to the wreck location by the Dutch authorities to continue searching for the two remaining crew members.

On board the warship will be a diving team, a Dutch police officer and two officers from the Belgian shipping inspection - which is in charge of the investigation.

The boat's disappearance sparked a major search and rescue operation involving lifeboats from Dungeness and Dover, along with a French helicopter.

RNLI members confirmed the bodies of two of the four Belgian crew members had been found near the French coast last Thursday.
