Motorcyclist dies in crash on the A259 in Old Romney

A motorcyclist has died following a three-vehicle crash on Romney Marsh.
The 55-year-old man, from East Sussex, died at the scene of the collision yesterday, which involved two motorbikes and a car.
Another motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was air lifted to hospital.
The crash happened on the A259 near to the junction with Millbank Lane in Old Romney at 11.48am, with police and ambulance crews being called to the scene.
The crash involved a black and green Kawasaki motorbike, a red and white Yamaha R1 motorbike, and a black Range Rover.
The road was closed for most of the day, with motorists advised to avoid the area.
An appeal has now been launched by police, who are investigating the fatal crash.
The Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward, including people who might have dashcam footage.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "An appeal for witnesses has been issued by officers investigating a fatal collision in Old Romney.
"The collision, involving a black and green Kawasaki motorbike, a red and white Yamaha R1 motorbike, and a black Range Rover, took place on the A259 near to the junction with Millbank Lane at around 11.48am on Sunday 4 August 2019.
"One of the motorcyclists, a 55-year-old man from East Sussex died at the scene. The second motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and he was taken to hospital."
A spokesman for south east coast ambulance said: "I can confirm ambulance crews attended the scene following reports of an RTC involving two motorbikes and another vehicle on the A259 at Old Romney at approximately 11.45am yesterday.
"The ambulance crews were joined at the scene by the air ambulance service. One of the motorcyclists was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The other motorcyclist was treated at the scene for serious injuries before being airlifted to Kings College Hospital."
