A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after the triple fatal crash at the weekend.
The driver has been released on bail until July 21.
The arrest comes after the owners of a purple camper van were urged to come forward as they could hold vital clues to what caused the tragedy.
Police today confirmed five people were in the car - the two female passengers who died and two men and a baby who survived.
The three injured were taken to hospital for treatment. Police say the extent of the injuries is not yet known but they are not believed to be life-threatening.
Witnesses were today being sought to the accident - in which a motorcyclist was also killed.
The 55-year-old male biker from Tenterden and two passengers of the Renault Megane, both from the Midlands, died after the crash at 3.50pm yesterday afternoon.
Now police are hoping those driving the camper van will step forward to help with their enquiries.
The van was seen in the area at around the time of the crash, but was not involved in the incident.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward with information on the accident on the A259 Rye Road at Brookland, near Rye.
One of the women, a 36-year-old, was from Birmingham, and the other, who was 65, was from Walsall.
Officers from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have witnessed the black Renault or the motorbike in the moments before the incident.
Sergeant Glyn Walker, from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "We are keen to hear from any witnesses who have yet to contact us, in particular the occupants of a purple VW camper van.
"We understand this vehicle was in the area at the time of the collision. It is not thought that the camper was directly involved but the occupants could be important witnesses and we would like to hear from them."
Witnesses are urged to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01622 798538.
