Three people have been injured after a serious 'head-on' crash.
The two-and-a-half mile stretch between Lydd and Kerton Road in Dungeness was closed until 3.30pm after a Jaguar and Audi collided at 8.45am.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses after the two drivers suffered "serious injuries" near the RSPB Dungeness Reserve, police said.
The air ambulance landed near the reserve and a 10-year-old girl - a passenger in the Audi - was treated for minor injuries.
A blue Jaguar XJR and grey Audi A3 Sport crashed near the entrance of the reserve.
Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are carrying out an investigation at the scene.
A police spokesman said: "They would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, particularly anyone who may have dashcam footage.
"Officers are currently at the scene along with colleagues from South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service."
Three people were trapped and had to be cut out by firefighters.
Another two people were out of the vehicles when firefighters arrived but all the casualties have been taken to hospital.
An ambulance service spokesman said: "Four ambulances were dispatched to the scene with several single responder cars and air ambulance also attended."
One of the cars carried two children. A 10-year-old child with a shoulder and arm injury was taken to William Harvey Hospital, while the other child was not injured.
There were two adult patients, one man [a driver] was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, he had to be assisted out of the car.
A woman [the driver] was taken to William Harvey Hospital. All patients were conscious, with suspected fracture injuries.
It is understood the vehicles crashed head on.
Officers are currently at the scene and have closed the road.
Kent Police's road policing unit is asking drivers to find an alternative route.
