A woman driver has been taken to hospital as a precaution after her car was recovered from a ditch.

The police received a report of a single car collision at 6.51am today in Ashford Road, Romney Marsh.

Firefighters and the ambulance service joined the police in a bid to remove the woman from her vehicle.

KCC Highways said the road between Ivychurch Road and Five Vents Lane was shut both ways.

But police later confirmed that it had re-opened at 8.15am.
