A259 at Brookland on Romney Marsh shut after lorry crash which saw driver injured

A main road on Romney March remains shut this afternoon after a lorry overturned.

The accident happened on the A259 outside Brookland, close to the turning for the Woolpack Inn, at around 11.30am.

Kent Police officers attended the scene along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service.

The lorry driver was reportedly injured in the crash, but the extent of their injuries is not known at this stage.

Police say the road remains closed to allow for the recovery of the vehicle and the removal of debris from the road.
