A busy road has finally reopened more than 12 hours after a lorry overturned.
The accident happened on the A259 between Brookland and Brenzett at around 6am.
Police have been at the scene all day, but delays in recovering the vehicle meant the road was sealed off near the Woolpack Inn for much of the day.
Fire crews from Lydd, New Romney and Ashford were called to the scene and crews helped clear a fuel spillage on the road.
A police spokesman said this evening: "There has been delay in reopening the road due to the lorry being recovered.
"Recovery attended at 8.10am, however a further vehicle was required which arrived at 9.30am.
"A gritting truck was also required to deal with a diesel spill.
"Recovery has taken several hours as the lorry's load had to be stacked whilst the HGV was righted onto its wheels.
"A road sweeper has also been requested. It is anticipated the road will remain closed for some time."
The road reopened just after 7pm.
