Jury’s Gap Road reopens after serious crash between Camber Sands and Lydd

A busy route to a popular beach has reopened closed - almost 17 hours after a serious crash.

A lorry and a motorbike were involved in the collision at Jury’s Gap shortly before 12.30pm.

There were traffic delays in the area as accident investigation work took place.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Emergency services are responding to a serious collision in Jury’s Gap Road, east of Camber.

“It involved a lorry driver and a motorcycle rider, shortly after 12.20pm.

“The road is currently closed in both directions while we respond to this incident.

“Motorists are advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes.”

The road had reopened by 5am. Sussex Police have been contacted for an update.
