A cyclist has been injured after being hit by a car.

The casualty was taken to hospital following the incident in Lydd on Romney Marsh.

Police and ambulance services were called to the scene in Ness Road at 7am.

The road was blocked for almost two-and-a-half hours between Dungeness Road and Station Road while emergency work took place.

Paramedics treated the cyclist at the scene and he was transported to hospital.

It is not known how serious their injury was.
