Children's entertainer Grant Nunn was stunned when he discovered he wasn't the father of the child he was helping raise.

The 23-year-old had been working at the New Beach Holiday Park in Dymchurch when he started a romance with Chloe Greenwood.

But after the birth of the child, the two lived as a couple – until DNA tests proved he wasn’t the father, Canterbury Crown Court heard.

Prosecutor Craig Evans said that led to a break-up and to him sending her 600 threatening text messages and bombarding her with 138 calls in 17 days!

Now Nunn, of Derby, has been jailed for seven months for harassment and breaching a restraining order.

Mr Evans said that Ms Greenwell had been going to the holiday park - where her mother owned a caravan - for the past 12 years.

“Four years ago she began a relationship with Nunn, who was employed at the site as a child’s entertainer.

“During the course of that relationship she became pregnant and gave birth to a daughter three years ago.

“The couple moved to Derby but returned to Kent when DNA tests were undertaken and it proved that the defendant was not the father. The relationship then changed, “ he added.

In January this year, Nunn was tried and acquitted in the magistrates court of harassment – but made subject to a restraining order.

“That prevented him contacting Ms Greenwell and for two months there was no contact until March this year when he moved back to Kent for work.

“He contacted her to see if he could re-start the relationship and arrived at the caravan park where she was working at the time, despite her telling him she was busy, “ the prosecutor added.

A furious Nunn stormed into the dining area and shouted at her work colleagues: “Stay away from my missus. I am going to kick your head in!”

Outside, he told his former lover: “I am going to ruin your life. I am going to make your life hell.”

After being banned from the site, Nunn began sending abusive and threatening text messages including threats to kill.

“She later admitted she was terrified and struggled to sleep. The calls caused her considerable distress, “ he added.

Nunn was later arrested and denied sending the messages, claiming someone called “Kyle” from Nottingham had his phone during that period.

Kieron Moroney, defending, said Nunn can no longer work as a children's entertainer and was employed at a call centre until his arrest.

“He has been on remand for the past four months, which has been a shock to the system. He now plans to return to Derby. He realises there is no point in contacting her.

“He knows he did wrong and has accepted the relationship is over.”

Judge Nigel Van Der Bijl told him: “Now you see where you end up if you don’t control your emotions.”

Nunn was ordered to stay away from his ex-lover and her mother until further notice.
