Boss Mickey Doyle defended Lydd’s approach after salvaging a late point at AFC Whyteleafe.
The visitors fought back from 2-0 down in front of a big Southern Counties East Division 1 crowd of 254.
Richard Atkins replied on the stroke of half-time and Timmy Babington levelled in the 88th minute, as the third-placed Lydders moved two points behind leaders Snodland.
Leafe fans were unimpressed with their tactics - but Doyle couldn’t care less.
“It was quite an occasion with the comeback,” he said.
“They weren’t too happy with us and they were letting us know.
“They were trying to gee their team up but we silenced them and made them hate us, judging by some of the comments I’ve seen.
“Apparently, we’re a dirty side and all that sort of stuff. All we’re interested in is winning games.
“Everyone wants to play tiki-taka football but it doesn’t always work.
“There’s different ways to win matches. Some people call it dirty or whatever - I call it experience.”
Lydd deserved their draw, having struggled early on.
Doyle said: “We didn’t defend very well in the first half - bad errors led to goals.
"We were lucky to score on the stroke of half-time - that made the team-talk easier - and then second half we were all over them.
"Their keeper played well but we got the equaliser and Timmy had another chance after that.
“He’s cut inside and the ball should have seen the back of the net.
“He had people he could have rolled it to as well but it is what it is. I can’t grumble.
“We could have won it but I’d have taken a point at 2-0 down. I’d have snapped your hand off for a draw after half an hour.”
Lydd are without a game this weekend.
