An air ambulance landed at a leisure centre after a man collapsed.

Medics were called to the incident at Baypoint Club in Ramsgate Road, near the A256 in Sandwich.

An ambulance service spokesperson says it was called shortly after 11.30am yesterday to the medical incident at the sports facility.

“Crews assessed and treated one patient at the scene before being joined by the air ambulance.

“The patient was then taken by road to the QEQM Hospital for further emergency medical treatment.”

The spokesperson confirmed the patient was a man.
