Police have stepped up patrols in Eastry after reports of criminal damage and underage drinking.

Since May, Kent Police says it has responded to nine incidents, including damage to the public toilets in the High Street.

There has also been damage to the allotments in Centenary Gardens and underage drinking.

Inspector Guy Thompson said: “Our officers are working tirelessly to focus on those that cause the most harm to this area.

“Visible patrols will continue to operate in Eastry to help protect businesses and communities and catch criminals.

“We will be speaking to parents of those young people who are believed involved in anti-social behaviour in the forthcoming weeks.

“In the meantime we would encourage anyone who sees anything suspicious to report it immediately.”

Patrols have been stepped up in the village and officers have been in the area in a bid to catch the perpetrators as well as deter them from committing offences.
