Man in his 70s kicked and punched in Strand Street, Sandwich

An elderly man was brutally kicked and punched to the ground in a street attack.

The victim, in his 70s, was injured and had to be taken to hospital.

The attack was reported to have happened at Strand Street, Sandwich, between 10.30pm on Wednesday and the following morning.

Police were called out at 9.20am that day.

Kent Police need witnesses and a spokesman said: "Officers are working to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

"However anyone who might have information or private CCTV that can assist enquiries is urged to call us."
