A town's problem with heavy goods vehicles getting stuck in its narrow streets continued this morning.
A car transporter heading to the site of The Open golf championship got stuck in Harnet Street, Sandwich.
Business people, fearful that Listed medieval buildings would be damaged, came out to keep check.
Val Gould, who owns a silversmiths and framing business, said: "This is the third time this has happened in a month."
The stretch is known as Breezy Corner, and is an integral point of the town's one-way system.
Harnet Street turns tightly into Strand Street which has the longest row of uninterrupted medieval buildings in the country.
Traffic was backed up to New Street.
The driver had to reverse along Harnet Street to Cattle Market and back into the narrow Delf Street to allow traffic to pass.
Once the flow had passed a passer by then stopped traffic to allow the driver to turn into Moat Sole and leave the area through Woodnesborough Road.
This morning's incident is the latest in a long line of issues spanning decades.
Signs clearly state the roads are not suitable for heavy goods or long vehicles.
Road closures exist in other parts of the town making a designated route for HGVs involved in dismantling the stands used during the 149th Open which was held in the town, concluding yesterday.
