An image of a man wearing a mask and hat has been released by police as part of an investigation into theft at a church.
Officers are appealing for help after cash and a credit card were taken from St Peter's Church in Sandwich at around 1.45pm on Tuesday.
It is alleged that a man entered the church, distracted a volunteer and then took the items.
The £130 cash was taken from a charity shop within the church in Market Street, while the credit card was taken from a volunteer's bag.
Now, an image of a man wearing a black coat, mask, hat and carrying a Nike rucksack has been released.
Police say he might be able to assist their enquiries.
Acting Inspector Leigh Woolnough, of Dover Community Safety Unit, said: "I appreciate the man's face is obscured in the image, but we are hoping someone may recognise him from his clothes, hat and bag."
Anyone with information is urged to call Kent Police on 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/10454/23.
You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, or by using the online form on their website.
Yesterday, those who help run the charity shop spoke out about the crime, saying they would have been happy to help anyone in need.
Annemarie Huigen, who runs the shop, said: "What’s so sad is that if someone needed money that desperately we could have helped them.
"This has all been very upsetting."
