Firefighters were called to a fire in the kitchenette at St Mary's Church in Sandwich.

Kent Fire and Rescue were called to the scene to reports there was a small fire at around 11am this morning.

Crews arrived to find the fire on the hob was out.

They used breathing apparatus and positive pressure ventilation to clear the smoke filled building.

Firefighter left the scene by midday.
