A huge grass fire took hold after a bonfire got out of control.
Fire crews were sent to Sandwich Bay, in Sandwich, where grass and undergrowth were ablaze.
They were alerted around 8.45pm yesterday.
Three fire engines were sent plus an all-terrain vehicle. Kent Fire and Rescue Service said the area on fire was around 100m x 20m.
A spokesman added: "There were no reported injuries and the fire is believed to have started after a small bonfire got out of control."
Emergency workers left the area just after 11pm.
Shane Keeler's pictures show the blaze could be easily seen from further down the coast, at Cliffsend.
The Sandwich Bay coastline and grasslands are home to a range of wildlife and several hundred plant species.
