UK Power Networks confirms homes in Sandwich and Worth have been without power

Homes in Sandwich and Worth have been without power today due to a fault on overhead lines.

UK Power Networks confirmed 453 homes were affected by the problem from 9am this morning.

Residents posted on Facebook to ask if others had been affected. The main areas affected have been John's Green in Sandwich, near to Dover Road and Worth.

A spokesman said: "UK Power Networks engineers are working to restore final supplies to properties in the John's Green area of Sandwich, following a fault on the overhead lines that supply the area at 9.01am this morning. 453 homes in Sandwich and Worth were originally affected by the problem, and engineers will be making use of a temporary generator to restore the 38 properties that remain without power.

"We currently estimate that all customers will have power back on by 3pm. We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused."

The rest of the customers should have power by 3pm.
