Cyclists are hoping to make a contribution to the Phoenix Centre, a youth project in Jubilee Road which provides activities, advice and support for young people in the area.
Phil Scott, centre manager for the Phoenix Centre, said: “Public sector funding cuts have put the youth project under great pressure. “Any support we can get from Le Weekend and other local bodies will be greatly appreciated.
“In addition to much needed equipment we are hoping to arrange professional training courses in Food Hygiene and baby-sitting amongst others so that our members are helped to develop usable skills.”
Le Tour offers a choice of 35, 50 or 75K rides and is organised by Locks of Sandwich, King Street, and the Sandwich-Honfleur Twinning Association.
Amy Croucher of Locks Cycles said: “The more people who ride, the more we can give to good causes like the youth project.
It takes place on Sunday, June 8, from the New Inn, Delf Street, and is £15 to register.
To register visit the website at www.sandwichevents.info, or register on the day at the New Inn.
