Staff at a supermarket got into the swing of a 1940s celebration by donning clothes from the wartime era.
Workers and management at The Co-operative in Moat Sole supported the three-day Sandwich Salutes the '40s event.
This saw a gunboat moor on the River Stour and re-enactors perform throughout the town.
Not only did they dress up, they also decorated the shop.
Store manager Paul Harris said: “We just wanted to get into the spirit of it. Saturday and Sunday were very busy and we had lots of people in store asking why we were dressed up.
“It gave us an opportunity to promote all the events happening across the town and the chance to have some very interesting conversations with our customers that were reminiscing.
“Some were talking about their parents and when they were kids and what they remembered from the era. There were lots of positive comments about the decoration of the store and the colleagues’ involvement.”
The store also helped by selling grand draw tickets on behalf of the events committee, which helped to fund the event.
Sandwich Salutes the '40s ran from Saturday, April 29 to Monday, May 1. It is hoped it will return next year.
