Activists have now left a factory on a business park following a protest against the company's supply of parts for arms sent to Israel.

Eight people stormed inside Discovery Park in Sandwich to demonstrate outside the new premises of Instro Precision.

The company has faced protestors several times before at its former factory in Broadstairs.

It is understood several workers at Instro were on site this morning and entered the factory premises.

Police have since confirmed that they left the area at 1.35pm and no arrests were made.

The protesters accuse the company of supplying Israel with weapons used to kill Palestinian people in Gaza.

Police attended the business park, having been called at 7.42am.

At one stage police vans were seen entering the park, but the scenes did not escalate into a situation where arrests needed to be made.

Steve Jones, a spokesman for the protestors, said: "We are letting Instro know that they can't escape attention just because they have moved to a big premises with high security and we want people to know who their new neighbours are.

"Many people who work at Discovery Park will be totally unaware that an arms manufacturer is their new neighbour and many will be quite surprised and some actually unhappy."

Instro is owned by Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest military company.

Elbit is involved in the production of high-spec equipment including aerial drones, armed ground robots and smart helmets.
