Police are investigating after several thousand pounds were stolen in a robbery on Pedding Lane, Shatterling yesterday.

Two men who went to buy a car in a country lane were pounced on by three men, who stole several thousands pounds from them.

The pair were hurt in the robbery, which took place in Pedding Lane in Shatterling, near Canterbury, yesterday.

Officers were called at 10pm last night, and were still at the scene today. The area was also cordoned off with police tape.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Two men stated they had arranged to buy a car they had seen advertised.

"It is alleged they were assaulted and several thousand pounds stolen from them by three males.

"Enquiries are ongoing, a search of the area has taken place and forensic evidence has been gathered."
