A 75-bedroom Travelodge will be built at the edge of Sandwich after planning permission was granted.
The town council says it is "delighted" with the decision and the speed of approval, which it hopes will encourage future investment in the Sandwich hotel sector.
Travelodge was given the green light just seven weeks after the firm submitted its application to Dover District Council (DDC) for the building on land off the Sandwich bypass at Discovery Park.
Once opened the Travelodge, which had been widely supported in Sandwich, will bring a jobs boost to the town offering four full-time and eight part-time positions.
The hotel is aimed at business people visiting the enterprise zone.
Sandwich deputy mayor, Cllr MJ Holloway, said: “Sandwich Town Council is delighted that Travelodge has been given the go ahead by DDC planners to build a new hotel at Discovery Park.
"At the town council’s meeting on July 29 councillors unanimously supported the planning application."
He added: "This additional, modern and accessible hotel accommodation is much needed in the area, for both business and tourism and will create local jobs in the hotel and hospitability sector.
"Sandwich Town Council hopes that this investment by Travelodge and the speed with which DDC, supported by Sandwich Town Council, were able to approve the planning application will encourage more investment in the hotel sector in and around the town.”
