Discovery Park is helping to form vital links between the arts and science in order to inspire young people.
The business and science park in Sandwich has become the latest patron of Turner Contemporary in Margate.
The world class gallery will be an extension of Discovery Park’s work in the community and supporting regeneration.
Kimberley Anderson, corporate relations manager at Discovery Park, said: “Turner Contemporary has a fantastic reputation for its efforts to regenerate the east Kent area, an ambition it shares with us here at Discovery Park.
“We hope to be able to collaborate with the gallery in a number of ways, particularly by supporting their work with local schools and other education centres and perhaps even host some art work on site for our tenants, staff and visitors to enjoy.”
Representatives from Turner Contemporary visited the park in Ramsgate Road during its annual science jamboree to see how the enterprise zone is helping to inspire the scientists of the future, and how they can work together.
Clare Millett, head of development at the gallery, said: “We are delighted to welcome Discovery Park as a corporate patron to Turner Contemporary and we look forward to building our relationship with them over the coming months.
“Our patron scheme is an integral part of our fundraising initiative, contributing towards Turner Contemporary’s core funding which supports our learning and outreach programme and ensures the gallery remains free for everyone to access great art.”
Turner Contemporary is a charity and needs support and donations to help provide exhibitions, events and activities for the community at no charge.
Other corporate supporters of the gallery which have helped them achieve this, include Shepherd Neame and the KM Group.
