Fire crews turned out in force last night as several vehicles blazed at a car compound in Sandwich.

Nine fire engines rushed to the scene on Ramsgate Road just after 8.15pm on Friday and spent three hours tackling the flames.

Crew members wearing breathing apparatus managed to bring the fire under control.

The cause of the blaze has not yet been revealed.

There were no reports of any injuries.
