Follow an exciting trail of local artists as Sandwich Arts Week kicks off this weekend.
Seventeen artists will be on display at various venues around the town today (Saturday) till Sunday, September 28.
There will also be a collective display from each artist at St Peter’s Church, where visitors can begin the trail and pick up a leaflet.
Among those exhibiting will be Adam Taimar showcasing his ceramics at Millards Insurance, Market Street, and Laura Mars will be exhibiting her paintings at Smoke on the Water, Market Street.
Helena Leeper uses recycled materials to create fine art and ceramics and will be showing her works at Priory Interiors.
These are just some of the artists involved in the project, others include Veronia Liote, Julie Sumner, Gary Thatcher, Julia Baxter, Lizzy Fright, Lawrence Uttley, Donna Fleming, Joseph Sevier, Giles Illsley, Bob Martin and Sue Manton.
There will also be a historic collection at the Guildhall as well as events at the Empire Cinema.
Tuesday, September 23 will see Lust For Life starring Kirk Douglas. This details the life of Vincent Van Gogh.
Thursday, September 25, will see a showing of French film Camille Claudel about the French sculptor.
Both will start at 7.30pm and tickets are £5 from The Sandwich Shop or on the door.
Sandwich Arts Week has been organised by the Sandwich Community Events Association and has received funds from community interest company, The Sandwich Shop.
Owners Steve and Sue Laslett awarded the tourism initiative £3,000 to help get the art event off the ground.
