Mayor of Sandwich Cllr Paul Graeme helped a popular boutique mark its fifth birthday, on Saturday.

Lady Elegance has been offering a range of designer shoes, bags, hats and accessories since 2010.

It also has a menswear section.

Owner Gillian Hardy said: “We opened our premises in 6 King Street but expanded two years ago to a larger premises next door. Laura Sandys, our then MP, did the honour of supporting us and doing the grand opening.

“Despite the retail industry’s problems, we remain positive as we have a niche market and our customers are finding us by word of mouth, social networking and our website.

“Sandwich is a wonderful town and deserves to be acknowledged as somewhere to come shopping.”

Lady Elegance is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm with after-hours appointments available.
