Police have cordoned off a town centre street after a man and a woman were found dead.
Emergency services were called to The Butchery in Sandwich just after 10am today after concerns were raised for two pensioners.
They attended an address where the pair, aged in their 90s, were found dead.
A police spokesman added: “Enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing but police are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.”
Officers are still at the scene, along with at least two cars, two ambulances and a smaller incident response van.
Cllr Dan Friend, who represents Sandwich on Dover Dover District Council, posted on social media about the large police presence in the town.
He said: “There is an incident currently occurring at The Butchery.
“I've received an update from the police. There is a multi-agency operation, the incident has been contained and there is no danger to the public.
“There will be a heightened police presence for the rest of today at least.”
Maureen and Philip Cooper were visiting from Cliffend in Thanet when they came across the mass of emergency vehicles.
Mr Cooper said: "We had first noticed two police officers nearby and then saw all this. I've only just heard about what's happened and it's horrific.”
