A care home in Sevenoaks has paid tribute to people supporting them through Covid-19 by dedicating a round of applause to community spirit.

Since lockdown, residents of Emily Jackson House, on Eardley Road, have been inundated with cards of well wishes, letters, and drawings from children which boost moral at this difficult time.

To say thank you, last Friday staff and residents took part their very own 'Clap for Community Spirit'.

Staff cheered on the doorstep while residents clapped from inside to thank everyone supporting them.

General Manager, Amabele Cheng, said: “We have all really enjoyed receiving every creation through our door and I know our carers are humbled by the clapping on Thursdays alongside the messages of thanks that have been pouring in.

"I am very proud of everyone during these times but would have expected nothing less – our residents always remain our priority, in everything we do.”

Emily Jackson House provides residential care, dementia nursing, and nursing care for 53 residents.

As well as the regular cheers on Thursdays, the team will be taking part in the clap again this evening at 8pm.
