Two people have been arrested and bailed after a union jack flag was torn down and burned last week.

The flag was found charred outside Borough Green Library on Tuesday, October 28 by councillor Mike Taylor.

He later reported it to the police and officers retrieved the flag from him on Thursday morning to assist with inquiries.

A police spokesman said: "Following a report of criminal damage in Borough Green on 28 October, where it was reported that a flag was damaged by fire, police officers have arrested two males aged 14 and 18."

Mr Taylor said he could not comment whilst investigations were ongoing.
